Advertisements for junk food like hamburgers are common online and on TV. But in the UK, this will soon change.
In September 2024, the UK government decided to ban(IE) all online advertisements for less healthy food and drinks. On TV, such advertisements cannot appear before 9 p. m. each day.
The ban will come into force in October 2025. Its goal is to lower childhood obesity (H J). In the 2022 -2023 school year, over 20 percent of 4 to 5-year-olds in England were overweight. Among children who just started middle school, more than 36 percent have the same health problem.
The government believes that introducing the ban is the right move. They think seeing fewer junk food advertisements can help children eat more healthily.
Many experts support this view. A lot of studies have shown that the more advertisements people see, the more junk food they will buy.
But some disagree. They argue that banning advertisements does not get to the real cause of the problem. "Do kids really want junk food because they see it on TV, or is it because they've tried it once and want it again?" Questioned Dina Rabie. In her opinion, the government should pay more attention to educating children about eating well.

It is well-known that Albert Einstein was one of the greatest scientists of all time and he was also a really great person. Here are some interesting things about him.
When Einstein started to work in America, someone asked him what he needed. He said he needed a desk, some paper and a pencil. He also asked for a big waste-paper basket to hold all of his mistakes. He knew even the cleverest man in the world can only learn by making mistakes.
Einstein thought time was very important. He never wore socks and he thought putting on socks was a waste of time as people already wore shoes. He also thought it was a waste of time remembering things that could quickly be found in a book. That's why he never remembered his own phone number, which was in the phone book. He knew what was worth remembering. It is true that if we are going to do great things in our lives, we can't waste our time.

Zhou Lei is a researcher at the Hubei Academy of Agricultural Science(). He won the China Youth May Fourth Medal. He has made much progress in the improvement of rice over the years. So far he has bred(#) 6 new kinds of rice. This makes sure China has enough rice to feed its people.
Zhou often has chances to go abroad and exchange experience with others. One of the visits to the United States made Zhou realize that even though China was playing a leading role in rice research in the world, its agricultural industry was still behind some developed countries. After returning to China, Zhou decided to use his skills to help China in agriculture. Instead of staying in a comfortable office, Zhou always worked in the field. Sometimes, he even took care of his crops() 24 hours a day.
In August, southern China usually has very high temperatures. This has a bad influence on the crops in Zhou's field. However, Zhou never gave up. He thought it opened a window for him to do further study. He said, " We have to find ways to overcome the high temperatures. The right rice needs to get used to the weather."
The good result finally came. After going through tens of thousands of tries, Zhou and his team succeeded in creating new kinds of rice to meet the needs of people.

With the development of China, many traditional ink paintings (Kj) show the changes in southern Chinese villages. Shang Xinzhou, a painter from the Guangxi Arts University, has been creating traditional ink paintings for over eight years. His paintings show the life in poor areas.
"Thanks to my experience in Duomai Village, I can make the paintings much more lovely," said the 36-year-old painter, who has spent two and a half years working there.
Shang's paintings show the progress in the fight against poverty. His works show changes from difficult local conditions and people's hard times to better conditions and happy lives. "I like drawing people's real lives, and paintings can be a bridge for communication between the local people and me," said Shang.
During his stay, he put his paintings about the local life on the Internet to help villagers sell their products. To make the nightlife there richer, he sold paintings to buy streetlights, so people could enjoy square dancing in the evening.
Shang's excellent works were popular in the village. "I love his paintings and they show great changes in our village," said a farmer.
